As many of you already know, garlic is a key element in spanish recipes. There is almost no single day in which garlic is used for one dish or another. When you cook it for a long time, it starts to have a sweet flavor, not pungent at all, and combining incredibly good with chicken. I had tons of garlic chicken during my childhood and still I like to prepare it. Therefore, I want to share this recipe with you trying to spread this recipe arround. I hope you can try it out. Enjoy!
Ingredients for 4 servings:
-800 gr chicken in pieces
-6-8 garlic cloves (you can add more if you like)
-100 ml white wine
-the juice of half lemon
-salt
-pepper
-3 tablespoons of olive oil
Time: 35-45 min
Instructions:
1- Peel the garlic cloves and reserve
2- Cut the chicken in pieces, remove the excess of fat
3- Season with salt and pepper
4- Heat the olive oil in a large pan at high heat, and fry the chicken pieces until they get a nice golden brown color in all sides of the pieces
5- Lower the heat to medium, add the garlic cloves and toss for a couple of minutes, making sure the garlic doesn't get too much color
6- Add the wine and the juice of half lemon, cover and let it cook for at least 20 minutes or until the meat is tender
7- uncover and cook for 5 more minutes at high heat to avoid some of the liquid to evaporate and allow the sauce to thicken
