When people hear about Spanish cuisine or foods, one of the first words that come up is "tapas". Yes. Tapas are really popular in Spain. All kind of tapas. Classic, new ones, old fashioned, good looking, easy, sophisticated, basic, complicated. Therefore, I decided to start a series of tapas recipes, so you can try yourself some of the stuff we like to eat. I find them very suitable for parties giving the people to try many different things, or one by one for light dinners.
Let's start with one of the easiest: the asparagus & ham rolls. Great as appetiser as well, you will only need 4 ingredients. Feel free to make as many variations and changes as you like (e.g. other type of cheese, other sauce, etc). Enjoy!
Ingredients:
-1 can of white asparagus
-York ham slices
-mayonnaise sauce
-grated cheese
Directions:
1-Preheat the oven at highest temperature or grill.
2-Display the ham slices on a surface and put on top the asparagus (one or two). Add a little bit of mayonnaise (not a lot!) and roll the ham around the asparagus.
3-Arrange the rolls on a tray and add some grated cheese on top.
4-Put in the oven for 3-4 minutes just to let the cheese to melt.
